Bandev, known as the forest man, has lived among the elephants of an Assam forest for decades, planting trees and guarding their old migration routes. When a ruthless minister and a builder begin a township project that cuts across the herds' corridor, Bandev takes on the system, while a mahout and a young rebel woman are drawn into the struggle. Haathi Mere Saathi was made by Tamil director Prabhu Solomon as a trilingual, released in Telugu as Aranya and in Tamil as Kaadan, with Rana Daggubati in the lead. Its hero is loosely inspired by Jadav Payeng, the "Forest Man of India". It was due to release in 2020 but was delayed by the pandemic.
