Bhaskaran is a happy-go-lucky graduate who has never cleared his arrears, has no job and lives off his long-suffering family. When his brother gets married, he falls for the bride's sister Chandrika, a sharp young lecturer, and is promptly told by her father that a man with nothing to his name need not apply. With his barber friend Nalla Thambi, Bhaskaran sets out to become a success, which in his case means opening a tuition centre and blundering through one scheme after another. M. Rajesh, who had scored with Siva Manasula Sakthi, again builds the film on rapid-fire banter, and the pairing of Arya and Santhanam became one of the most popular comic duos of Tamil cinema. Yuvan Shankar Raja's songs and Nayanthara's poise round off a reliable feel-good comedy.
