A pipeline explosion at a harbour oil depot sets off a fire that spreads tank by tank, and if it reaches the giant storage tanks full of toxic chemicals, the surrounding city could be destroyed. Fire brigade captain Jiang Liwei, haunted by a past rescue that went wrong, leads his men and women into the blaze on a mission that seems close to impossible. The film is inspired by the real 2010 oil pipeline explosion and fire in Dalian, China, and is designed as a large-scale disaster film, with huge practical and digital fire effects and a tribute to the courage of firefighters. Huang Xiaoming and Du Jiang head a large ensemble cast.
