Padikkadavan (2009)

Padikkadavan ("The uneducated one") is a 2009 Tamil action comedy directed by Suraj. Dhanush plays a young man whose father considers him a failure because he never finished his education. When he falls for a college girl, played by Tamannaah Bhatia, he resolves to change his image, but her family's past and a pair of dangerous enemies complicate things. Vivek provides the comedy, and the film follows the mass-entertainer formula of romance, fights and punch lines, with music by Mani Sharma. It was a hit and one of Tamannaah's first major Tamil successes.
