Komaram Puli is a 2010 Telugu action film written and directed by S. J. Surya, starring Pawan Kalyan as a fearless young police officer who devises his own system for bringing justice to ordinary people, putting him on a collision course with a dangerous politician played by Manoj Bajpayee. Nikeesha Patel made her debut as the heroine. A. R. Rahman composed the music, a rare Telugu album from him. The film's title was shortened to Puli shortly before release after objections to its use of the name of tribal hero Komaram Bheem. It was a box-office disappointment despite enormous anticipation.
