In a Haryana village ruled by the stern Chaudhary, his elder daughter runs away on the eve of her arranged wedding. Chaudhary's men round up the young friends of the man she eloped with, among them the cocky, hard-hitting Bablu, and hold them until the couple is found. While the search goes on, Bablu and Chaudhary's younger daughter Dimpy fall in love, setting up a clash with a family that will not forgive another betrayal. Heropanti launched two new stars, Tiger Shroff, son of Jackie Shroff, and Kriti Sanon, and its showcase of Tiger's martial arts and dancing made him an action star overnight. It is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film Parugu, and a sequel followed in 2022.
