Baazigar (1993)

Ajay is handsome, charming and apparently devoted to Seema, the elder daughter of the businessman Madan Chopra. Then Seema dies, and Ajay, under another name, begins courting her sister Priya, who refuses to believe her sister's death was suicide. As Priya and a police officer friend dig into the case, the film reveals what Madan Chopra once did to Ajay's family and how far Ajay is willing to go to take everything from him. Baazigar ("gambler") was a turning point for Hindi cinema: Shah Rukh Khan played an anti-hero who kills, and audiences loved him for it. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor, the film made Kajol a top star, and it was Shilpa Shetty's first film. Anu Malik's songs, including the title track and "Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen", were huge hits. The story was loosely inspired by A Kiss Before Dying.
