Aakhari Poratam (1988)

Aakhari Poratam ('the final battle') is a 1988 Telugu action drama directed by K. Raghavendra Rao from a story by the popular novelist Yandamuri Veerendranath. Nagarjuna, still early in his career, stars opposite Sridevi, then at the height of her stardom in both Hindi and South Indian cinema, with Suhasini in a strong supporting role. The story pits its heroes against a powerful criminal, played by Amrish Puri in one of his Telugu appearances, and combines suspense and action with the glamorous song picturisations that were Raghavendra Rao's trademark. Ilaiyaraaja composed the music. The Hindi version, Mera Farz, sells itself on the Sridevi and Amrish Puri names.
