Pichai is a talkative barber who cannot resist exaggerating. On an ordinary day, while taking his pregnant wife Subhadra and their children on a trip, he gets into a petty row with Manga, a hot-tempered gangster out on a day's parole, and humiliates him in public. Manga has only a few hours before he must return to jail, and he decides to spend them hunting Pichai down. What follows is a chase through the alleys and streets of Chennai, full of strange characters and absurd turns. Savarakathi, meaning straight razor, was written and produced by Mysskin and directed by his brother G. R. Adithya, with Mysskin himself playing the gangster and director Ram as the barber. The film is a dark comedy with a humane heart.
