Description

Anand is a mild-mannered dentist living in the United States with a domineering father-in-law. His quiet life ends when Guru Gulab Khatri, a flamboyant Indian gangster who has double-crossed his own boss, moves in next door. Before long Anand is caught between Guru, the rival gang hunting him, a hit-man named Yogi and a crowd of comic crooks chasing a hidden stash of diamonds. Loosely inspired by the Hollywood comedy The Whole Nine Yards, the film became a cult favourite on television largely for Paresh Rawal's Manilal and Johnny Lever's Chhota Chhatri, and for Akshay Kumar's swaggering turn as Guru. Its success led the same team to make Deewane Huye Paagal three years later.
