Krishna is an ordinary young man in Bangalore who falls deeply for Geetha, a girl from a struggling family who works to keep her mother and siblings afloat. Their romance grows slowly and sweetly, but Geetha's responsibilities and the hard realities of life keep pulling them apart, and the film moves from light courtship into heartbreaking drama. Director Shashank tells it with restraint, and Radhika Pandit's performance as Geetha won wide praise and helped make her one of the leading Kannada actresses of the decade. The film was a hit and launched a run of Krishna-titled films for Ajay Rao, including Krishnan Marriage Story.
