Subhash Chandra Bose is a 2005 Telugu period action drama from K. Raghavendra Rao, the veteran director of countless Telugu blockbusters. Venkatesh plays two roles, one of them a revolutionary in pre-independence India who takes on the British, the other set in the present, and the film links the two eras through its story of patriotism and sacrifice. Shriya Saran and Genelia D'Souza, both popular young heroines of the period, play the female leads. Despite its title the film is not a biography of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose; the name is a tribute to the freedom fighter. It combines Raghavendra Rao's trademark song picturisations with large-scale period scenes.
