Sathya is working abroad when he gets a call from Swetha, the woman he once wanted to marry. She is now married to someone else, and her young daughter has been kidnapped. Sathya flies back to Chennai to help, but the more he investigates, the stranger the case becomes: the police, the neighbours and even the girl's school insist there was never any child, and he starts to doubt Swetha's sanity, and his own judgement. Sathya is a Tamil remake of the Telugu thriller Kshanam, made by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy, who had directed Saithan, and produced by Sibi's father, the actor Sathyaraj. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar plays a forceful police officer, and Simon K. King's score keeps up the suspense.
