Picket 43 (2015)

Havildar Hareendran Nair is posted to Picket 43, an isolated outpost on the Line of Control in Kashmir, where he lives alone with only a dog for company, cut off by snow and silence. Across the border sits a Pakistani post manned by Musharraf, a soldier as lonely as he is. Shouts across the valley turn into conversations, and the two enemies slowly become friends, sharing stories of home and family, until the politics and violence of the border catch up with them. Director Major Ravi, himself a former army officer and maker of the Keerthi Chakra series, made this smaller, more humane war film, shot in the snow of Kashmir. Hindi actor Javed Jaffrey made his Malayalam debut as Musharraf.
