Theerppu (2022)

Theerppu ("verdict") is a 2022 Malayalam drama directed by Rathish Ambat and written by Murali Gopy, the team behind Kammara Sambhavam. It follows a group of men who grew up together and whose lives have since gone in very different directions; when they are brought together again, the secrets and betrayals of their past surface, and the reunion turns into a reckoning. Murali Gopy's script uses the personal story as a layer over politics, history and power, and the film is slow-burning and talk-driven rather than action-heavy. Real-life brothers Prithviraj Sukumaran and Indrajith Sukumaran play two of the leads, with Vijay Babu and Saiju Kurup in key roles.
