Bezubaan (1982)

Bezubaan ("voiceless") is an early-1980s social drama from Bapu, the Telugu director known for his gentle, humane films, who made several Hindi pictures in this period. Shashi Kapoor and Reena Roy play the leads in a story about a vulnerable woman and the injustice she faces, and about the man who stands by her. It is a quiet film best suited to fans of its stars and of Bapu's work.
