Raju is a working-class young man in a Telangana village dominated by its landlord, the dora. He is captivated by the landlord's daughter, the dorasaani, who is seen only fleetingly through the windows of the family mansion, and against all the rules of caste and class the two begin a shy, secret romance. In a village where everyone knows their place, their love soon becomes a dangerous transgression. Dorasaani is a slow, gentle period love story set in the 1980s against the backdrop of feudal power and the radical politics that stirred the region at the time. It marked the debut of both lead actors, Anand Deverakonda, younger brother of Vijay Deverakonda, and Shivatmika, daughter of actors Rajasekhar and Jeevitha.
