A young traffic police officer has always wanted to work on real crimes and keeps being passed over. When workers widening a road uncover the skeletons of three people buried long ago, the case is treated as too old to matter, but he quietly starts digging on his own. With help from a retired officer and an old journalist who remember the 1970s, he follows a trail of forgotten murders, missing files and powerful people who would prefer the past to stay buried. Kapatadhaari ("the deceiver") is the Telugu remake of the Kannada hit Kavaludaari (2019), made alongside a Tamil version, Kabadadaari. It is a slow-burn investigative thriller that rewards patient viewers.
