Chanti (2004)

Chanti is a Telugu action drama from 2004 with Ravi Teja in the title role of a guileless young man from a village, whose straightforward nature and loyalty to the people he cares about set the story in motion. Charmme Kaur and Daisy Bopanna play the two women in his life, and the film moves between rural romance, family sentiment and the fights that follow when powerful people take advantage of the hero's trust. It came from director Sobhan, who also made the Mahesh Babu film Bobby and the hit Varsham, and it belongs to the stretch of the mid-2000s when Ravi Teja was turning out a steady run of mass entertainers.
