Nishabdham (2020)

Sakshi, an artist who cannot hear or speak, visits a long-abandoned mansion outside Seattle with her fiance Anthony, a celebrated cellist, hoping to find a painting rumoured to be inside. The house has a reputation for a ghostly past, and the night ends in a violent death. Detective Maha and her superior take up the case, and as they dig into Sakshi's account, her friend's disappearance and the history of the house, the line between the supernatural and a very human crime keeps shifting. Nishabdham ("silence") was shot largely in the United States and made simultaneously in Tamil as Silence. It reunites Anushka Shetty and R. Madhavan after Rendu, and features Hollywood actor Michael Madsen as a police chief.
