Sakthi is a traffic police officer who is bored of directing vehicles and longs for real investigative work. When human skeletons are found while a road is being dug up in Chennai, the case is buried by his superiors as too old to matter, but Sakthi starts looking into it on his own. With the help of a retired officer and a journalist, he traces the remains back to a forgotten crime from decades earlier, and the trail leads to powerful people who want the past left undisturbed. Kabadadaari ("deceiver") is the Tamil remake of the acclaimed Kannada thriller Kavaludaari, with Sibi Sathyaraj in the lead and Nassar as the veteran officer.
