Lorie (1984)

Lorie ("lullaby") is a 1984 Hindi drama directed by Vijay Talwar, starring Shabana Azmi, Farooq Shaikh and Naseeruddin Shah, three leading names of the art-house movement of the period. As the title suggests, its story touches on motherhood and the deep emotions surrounding a child, set within a quiet, character-focused drama about relationships. A low-key film of interest to admirers of these actors and of 1980s middle cinema.
