Stanley Livington works in a department store book section and has never been further than the city, but when a glamorous woman comes looking for a rare map of Africa, his fast-talking pal Buzz claims Stanley knows the route by heart. Soon the two are leading a safari into the jungle, where the real goal is a hoard of diamonds and the dangers include lions, gorillas, cannibals and their own greedy companions. Abbott and Costello's comedy is full of slapstick and wordplay, and the film features real-life animal showmen Clyde Beatty and Frank Buck playing themselves, along with boxers Max and Buddy Baer and a short turn by Shemp Howard of the Three Stooges. It has fallen into the public domain, which has kept it widely seen.
