A group of Malayali friends have stayed on in Bengaluru after finishing their engineering degrees, drifting through life, friendships and love. Their world is turned upside down when a bomb blast hits the city and one of their Muslim friends is detained as a suspect, exposing them to police brutality, media hysteria and prejudice. As they fight to clear his name, the light-hearted campus film turns into a courtroom and social drama. Written and directed by Mridul Nair in his debut, B.Tech stars Asif Ali with Aparna Balamurali, Anoop Menon and Sreenath Bhasi, and was praised for the way it handles the profiling of minorities within a youthful, entertaining frame.
