Nuvvu Naaku Nachav (2001)

Venky arrives in the city to live with his father's childhood friend, a kindly but strict man whose family soon finds the guest impossible to ignore: he is cheeky, idle and endlessly funny. He and the daughter of the house, Nandini, begin by squabbling, but feelings grow even though her marriage has already been fixed, and Venky would rather hurt himself than betray the man who took him in. Nuvvu Naaku Nachav ("I like you") is one of the best-loved Telugu comedies of its decade. Trivikram Srinivas's sparkling dialogue, years before he became a star director, made many of its lines catchphrases, and Venkatesh's comic timing is at its best. It was the debut of Aarthi Agarwal, and it was remade in Tamil as Vaseegara.
