Rajakumarudu (1999)

Raj is a carefree young man who returns home from overseas and falls head over heels for Rani. Winning her is the easy part; family opposition and a scheming villain stand in the way, and Raj has to use charm, wit and his fists to clear the path. Rajakumarudu was Mahesh Babu's debut as a leading man, after his years as a child actor, and one of Preity Zinta's two Telugu films. Mahesh's father, superstar Krishna, appears in a special role. The film launched one of Telugu cinema's biggest careers, and Mani Sharma's songs were popular.
