Baldev Sahay is an assistant commissioner in Kolkata who works for the gangsters he is meant to catch. Tirupathi, a cheerful young man in Hyderabad, keeps failing to get into the police, and he happens to look exactly like Baldev. When Baldev's past catches up with him, Tirupathi is pulled into his life and has to face the crime boss and the crooked officials Baldev once served. Ravi Teja plays both men, and the film mixes his usual comedy with mass action. It was the first film directed by K. S. Ravindra, known as Bobby, who went on to direct Sardaar Gabbar Singh and Waltair Veerayya.
