Anand and Akshara are engaged and their families are delighted, but the long run-up to the wedding brings out doubts. Akshara starts to wonder whether she has chosen with her heart or simply gone along with what everyone expected, especially when her past resurfaces, and Anand has to work out how to win her over for real. Happy Wedding is a gentle family romance that spends its time on the small negotiations of a big Telugu wedding: relatives, rituals, expectations and the couple's own uncertainty. It stars Sumanth Ashwin and Niharika Konidela, of the Konidela film family, in one of her early lead roles, with Naresh and Murali Sharma as the fathers. It is a soft, talky film for viewers who enjoy wedding-season dramas with plenty of family colour and no villains.
