In the Name of the King (2007)

Farmer, a man known only by his trade, lives quietly in the kingdom of Ehb until the Krugs, savage creatures controlled by the sorcerer Gallian, attack his village, kill his son and carry off his wife. With his old friend Norick he sets out after them, while the ageing King Konreid, betrayed by his scheming nephew, tries to hold the realm together. Farmer turns out to have a hidden past that ties him to the fate of the throne. The film is a sword-and-sorcery adventure loosely based on the Dungeon Siege video games, directed by Uwe Boll, a director notorious for game adaptations, with an unusually starry cast. It earned Boll a Golden Raspberry for Worst Director, but its Jason Statham fight scenes keep it watchable for action fans.
