Buddhivantha (2008)

A charming man stands accused in court by a series of women, each of whom says he wooed and married her under a different identity, from a wealthy businessman to a holy man, before vanishing with her money. As each woman tells her story, the film plays out his elaborate disguises and cons, while the court, and the audience, try to work out who he really is and why he does it. Buddhivantha ("the clever one") is the Kannada remake of the Tamil film Naan Avanillai (2007), itself a remake of a 1974 Tamil film of the same name. Upendra, known for his offbeat screen persona, has a field day with the many characters, opposite Pooja Gandhi, Saloni Aswani and Natanya Singh.
