A man living abroad wants to sell his family home, but nobody will buy it because of its reputation for being haunted. Four men who badly need money are hired to stay inside for a few days and prove there is nothing to fear. Each of them has a reason to be desperate, and none of them is as brave as he claims. Once the doors close, strange things begin to happen, and the four discover that the house's residents, led by Tamannaah, have their own reasons for wanting them gone. Petromax is the Tamil remake of the Telugu hit Anando Brahma, which made its name by flipping the ghost story so that the living are the intruders. Yogi Babu and Munishkanth lead the comedy, and the scares are kept mild.
