Captain Vettri Selvan leads a tight-knit Army unit in the north-east, and after one of his men dies mysteriously, the team is assigned to clear Sector 42, a forest region where no one has survived. There they come face to face with strange, deadly creatures, while a scientist with her own agenda takes a keen interest in what they find. Captain is a Tamil science-fiction action film with monster attacks and military camaraderie, built on visual effects. It reunited Arya with director Shakti Soundar Rajan after the space thriller Teddy, and D. Imman composed the music.
