Description

In Lalganj, Uttar Pradesh, police inspector Chulbul Pandey plays by his own rules: he steals from robbers, swaggers through town and is never without his sunglasses and one-liners. At home he resents his stepfather and his half-brother Makkhi, who is favoured by the family. When he falls for Rajjo, a potter's daughter, and clashes with Chhedi Singh, a violent youth leader with political ambitions, his personal feuds and public battle start to merge. Dabangg ("fearless") revived the swaggering masala hero in Hindi cinema and became one of the biggest hits in Salman Khan's career. It introduced Sonakshi Sinha, won the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, and its item song "Munni Badnaam Hui" was a phenomenon. It led to two sequels.
