This 1940 black-and-white film documents the groundbreaking experiments conducted by Dr. S.S. Bryukhonenko at the Institute of Experimental Physiology and Therapy in Voronezh, U.S.S.R. The experiments, which involved the revival of life in dead dogs, showcase the potential for reviving individual organs and, eventually, the whole organism. Using an autojector to supply and recirculate oxygenated blood, one dog was successfully revived and lived for several years without any apparent harm. Professor Walter B. Cannon narrates the film, while Professor J.B.S. Haldane introduces the segment. Directed by D.I. Yashin and filmed by E.V. Kashina, this film offers a fascinating glimpse into early attempts at life extension and resuscitation.
