Naren, a recently separated bank manager approaching forty, takes in two paying guests: Abhay, a gym instructor who treats romance as a sport, and Milind, a soft-hearted, old-fashioned young man who believes in true love. Naren falls for June, a much younger trainee at his bank; Abhay, for the first time, finds himself genuinely smitten; and Milind devotes himself to a pretty RJ who may not deserve him. The film follows all three romances with gentle comedy and some bittersweet turns. Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji was Madhur Bhandarkar's first comedy after a run of hard-hitting dramas such as Page 3 and Fashion. Pritam's music, especially "Abhi Kuch Dino Se", was popular, and Omi Vaidya, fresh from 3 Idiots, won hearts as Milind.
