Ever since childhood, Seenu has been fascinated by violence and the swagger of the local strongmen in Visakhapatnam. While his family hopes he will settle down, he deliberately sets out to become a feared rowdy, pursuing the most dangerous people in the city's underworld to prove himself. His girlfriend and family watch as each victory drags him deeper into a world that does not forgive. Jagadam was Sukumar's second film after Arya and Ram Pothineni's second after Devadasu, and it is a darker, grittier film than either. It was not a big hit on release but has since gained a following for its raw style, its portrait of a hero who chooses violence, and Devi Sri Prasad's music.
