Baba grew up on the streets and has become a feared name in the underworld, but he lives for his family, above all his younger brother, whom he wants to keep far from crime. As rival gangsters close in and a trusted friend's ambitions grow, the ties of loyalty and blood begin to pull Baba's life apart. Aatish: Feel the Fire was the first film directed by Sanjay Gupta, who went on to make stylish crime films such as Kaante and Shootout at Wadala, and it already shows his fondness for slick, Hong Kong-influenced gangster action. Sanjay Dutt leads a crowded cast that includes Aditya Pancholi, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor and Atul Agnihotri, and Nadeem-Shravan composed the songs.
