Paapi (1953)

Paapi ("the sinner") is a 1953 Hindi film directed by Chandulal Shah, one of the pioneers of the Bombay studio system, and stars Raj Kapoor and Nargis, the most celebrated romantic pair of the decade, made outside their own RK Films. It came in the same year as their Aah, at the height of their partnership. Details of its plot are not widely documented, but it belongs to the moral and social dramas typical of its time.
