Chandu manages a supermarket in Hyderabad and leads a simple life. When a young woman he helps out of trouble draws the attention of dangerous criminals, a more formidable man emerges: Chandrasekhar Dharma, a member of a powerful Delhi business family, whose decisive ways earned him the name "Dictator". The story moves into a flashback about family loyalty, betrayal and a ruthless rival clan before returning for the showdown. Dictator was Balakrishna's 99th film as a lead actor, a mass entertainer in his style, with S. Thaman's music and Anjali and Sonal Chauhan as the heroines.
