When his plane goes down in a remote, uncharted valley, a pilot finds himself in a strange land cut off from the world, governed by women under a proud queen and bound by its own rules and rituals. He falls in love with a local girl, but the queen has her own designs on the stranger, and his longing to return home sets him at odds with the whole kingdom. Uran Khatola ("the flying carriage") is a 1955 fantasy-romance from the golden age of Hindi cinema, starring Dilip Kumar at his romantic peak opposite Nimmi. It was produced by composer Naushad, whose score is one of his best loved, including "Mohabbat Ki Raahon Mein Chalna Sambhal Ke" and "O Door Ke Musafir", sung by Mohammed Rafi. It was a major hit of its year.
