Argentina Fans Kaattoorkadavu (2019)

In the village of Kaattoorkadavu football is close to a religion, and the locals split into fervent Argentina and Brazil fan clubs whenever a World Cup comes around. Vipinan and Mehrunnisa grew up together and are in love, but as a new tournament approaches the rivalry between fan clubs, local politics and family pressure begin to pull them apart. The film is a warm, comic portrait of Malabar football mania, based on a story by writer Ashokan Charuvil, with Aishwarya Lekshmi as the strong-willed heroine and Kalidas Jayaram as the hero. Gopi Sundar composed the songs.
