Thilak, a sharp young journalist, joins a leading television news network expecting to report the truth. Instead he finds that his employers twist stories, bury scandals and run campaigns for whoever pays, including a ruthless industrialist and a corrupt politician. After a story he cares about is killed, Thilak and a group of like-minded colleagues quit and join a small, struggling news station run by an old idealist, and set out to fight the giants with live reporting and clever stings. The title means "slingshot", an image of the small taking on the mighty. Directed by K. V. Anand, the film is a pacy media thriller that takes aim at paid news and sensationalism, with T. Rajendar in a lively supporting role.
