Two close friends are drawn to the same girl, and as love blossoms for one of them, the other grows resentful and possessive. What begins as a sunny romance turns into a story of jealousy, pride and divided loyalties. Rajendra Kumar, then known as "Jubilee Kumar" for his run of long-running hits, leads the cast with a young Saira Banu, and Dharmendra, still early in his career, takes the darker role of the rival, an unusual part for the future He-Man. The film was a box-office success, and its Shankar–Jaikishan songs, including Mohammed Rafi's "Tum Kamsin Ho Nadaan Ho" and the title song, remain popular.
