Chandu is a cheerful kickboxing champion raised alone by his mother, who never got over the husband who left her for his career. When she dies, her last wish sends Chandu to live with his estranged father, a wealthy and proud man, so that he can win his place in the family. In the father's house he clashes and bonds by turns, and falls for Vennela, a lively Tamil girl, while the climax brings him back into the ring. Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi ('mother, father and a Tamil girl') was a big 2003 hit for director Puri Jagannadh and Ravi Teja, who had worked together on Itlu Sravani Subramanyam and Idiot. It was Asin's first Telugu film, Chakri's songs were popular, and it was remade in Tamil as M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi.
