Patthar Dil (1985)

Patthar Dil ("heart of stone") is a 1985 Hindi action drama directed by Surendra Mohan, with Rakesh Roshan and Padmini Kolhapure in the lead. Its story of a hardened man, family wrongs and a fight for justice follows the formula of the decade's action melodramas, with songs, family emotion and climactic fights. The film is best remembered today as the debut of Kimi Katkar, who went on to become a popular heroine of the late 1980s and early 1990s, starring opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Hum. For Padmini Kolhapure fans it is one of her many mid-1980s releases, made in the years after her breakthrough in Prem Rog.
