Aagadu (2014)

Shankar is an orphan raised by a kindly police inspector, and he grows up to wear the uniform himself, with a quick tongue and a short fuse. After a falling-out with his foster father he is posted to Bukkapatnam, a town where Damodar, a land-grabbing strongman, controls everything from the market to the police station. Shankar takes him on in his own style, mixing comic swagger with brutal set-piece fights, and a romance with the spirited local girl Saroja runs alongside. Along the way he uncovers how Damodar's empire is tied to his own past. Aagadu ("he won't stop") reunited Mahesh Babu with Dookudu director Srinu Vaitla and composer S. Thaman, and is remembered for its rapid-fire dialogue and Shruti Haasan's special song "Junction Lo"; it did not match the success of their earlier film.
