Aashiana (1952)

Aashiana ("nest" or "home") is a 1952 Hindi film directed by Amar Kumar, made at the height of the Raj Kapoor and Nargis partnership that produced Barsaat and Awaara. Unlike those, it was made outside Raj Kapoor's own banner, and it remains one of the less discussed titles in the pair's long run together. For viewers exploring the couple's work it is a chance to see them in a smaller, more conventional romantic drama of the period.
