A wealthy businessman's dying wish is to see his daughter again, years after he threw her out for marrying against his will. His grandson travels to India, takes a job as a driver in her husband's household under a false name, and sets about winning over the family from the inside, falling for his cousin along the way. Ranna is the Kannada remake of Trivikram's Telugu blockbuster Attarintiki Daredi (2013), directed by Nanda Kishore and built around Sudeep's charm, comedy and action. Rachita Ram and Haripriya play the two heroines, and Madhoo takes the role of the estranged aunt. It was a box-office success.
