Govinda Govinda (1993)

Seenu is a happy-go-lucky young man more interested in having fun and courting the spirited Nivedita than in anything sacred. But a ruthless gang, led by a villain played by Paresh Rawal, is plotting to rob the priceless jewellery of Lord Venkateswara, and an ancient mystical force begins to stir in opposition. Caught between the criminals and a divine plan, Seenu finds himself the unlikely champion in a chase that blends action, comedy and fantasy. Govinda Govinda was Ram Gopal Varma's mix of his slick thriller style with mythological fantasy, reuniting him with Nagarjuna, the star of his breakthrough Shiva. Sridevi, then at the height of her stardom, brings sparkle and comic timing to the heroine's role.
