Adhinayakudu ("leader") is a mass action drama in which Balakrishna takes on three roles across three generations of a family with a history of leadership and sacrifice. The grandson is a carefree young man who knows little of his family's past until enemies of the older generations resurface, and the story moves between the present and the past to show how the family was wronged and how the youngest must set things right. Jayasudha plays a key role, and Lakshmi Rai and Saloni are the heroines. The triple role is the film's main draw for Balakrishna's fans.
